The Norwegian Spring continues this sunday with Solrenningen, another crucial step in the preperations for WOC2019 from 12th to 17th of august.

(Halden, Østfold) Several WOC-favourites are in Østfold this weekend to run the Norwegian Spring. The attendance was so great in the Womens elite class that the organizers had to split the runners into “Norwegian clubs” and “Foreign clubs” and the men’s elite class was split into three classes. The preparations for the World Orienteering Championships from 12thto 17thof August is on and almost the entire world elite are running in Østfold this weekend.

The World Orienteering Championships in Østfold 12-17 August has reached an important milestone: One week ahead of the Early Bird deadline, more than 1000 entires have been registered for the spectator races.

For the first time in history the live television pictures from an orienteering event will air at absolute prime time. The pictures will be sent throughout the world at this year’s championships between August 12thto 17th.

Through the project Ung frivillig (young volunteer), nearly 100 youngsters from 16 to 25 years of age have signed up to organise an incredible WOC from August 12thto 17th

Practice for WOC 2019 with our ambassadors Mari Fasting (33) and Petter Thoresen (52) during the next couple of months, either you’re a WOC competitor or take part in the spectator races. 

Fabulous coast areas, historical fortresses, all kinds of activities and numerous cultural events! During WOC 2019 you get to experience anything you like.

There are six spectator races during WOC 2019 12thto 17thof August. The race with most historical significance will be the one in Fredrikstad on Thursday Aug 15th, where you chase controls in and around Kongsten Fortress. 

Now we have reached 200 entries for the spectator races during WOC 2019 from August 12thto 17th. You have the chance to join in as well! 

It is today exactly six months left before Nokian Tyres World Orienteering Championships is held in Østfold, Norway. Nearly 30 of the applications to become a volunteer during WOC 2019 have so far come from countries outside of Norway.
