Now we have reached 200 entries for the spectator races during WOC 2019 from August 12thto 17th. You have the chance to join in as well!

The organisers have put in a lot of effort to create the best WOC ever. In January registrations opened for the six spectator races, as well as for the camping and school accommodations.

  • It’s a good thing that entries from near and far already have begun coming in. So far participants from six different nations have registered. The big entry rush is of course yet to come, given the early bird deadline of April 15th. The big rush is expected during the last week upon that date. The final deadline for entries is July 29th. Still there’s no need to wait, says spectator races coordinator Finn Henry Lillestrand.

The 200 entries have so far spread out like this:

Race 1: 34

Race 2: 33

Race 3: 33

Race 4: 33

Race 5: 32

Race 6: 29

Early Bird-deadline April 15th

The deadline for discounted Early Bird entries is April 15th. For participants outside of Norway the payment will be handled as part of the registration process, however the Early Bird discount apply for Norwegian clubs and the rest of the world alike.

Main entry deadline is July 29th.

Late entry deadline for the ordinary classes is August 8th

Beyond this point only late entry for the direct open classes may be done at the arena.

Huge interest

The organisers experience huge interest for WOC 2019. Several clubs and people have already booked accommodation. Because of this there has been put in a lot of effort to help clubs find the suitable accommodation matching the needs of everyone. This effort will continue with help of Visit Østfold and the municipalities in the area. One of many possibilities is for clubs to hire a school building of its’ own.

- We aim to match all needs. Several clubs have booked cabins, spaces at camping resorts within the Østfold area, hotel rooms or they have found private accommodation offers. We try to provide information concerning accommodations at a widest possible spectre, coordinator for the spectator races Finn Henry Lillestrand says.

The WOC2019 camping is located at Sarpsborg Stadium, with spaces for caravans and caravan cars. A centrally located “School Hotel” is also an accommodation possibility. Each of the possibilities mentioned offer bus transport to the arenas.

Six spectator races

There will be spectator races each day of the WOC week for August 12thto 17th, a total of six separate races. (See official invitation for more info). Parking fees and shuttle buses are included for the days you’ve entered. For Direct Open and beginner’s courses entries may be sorted at the arena on the race day.
