Tove Alexandersson (26) dived over the finish line and went down totally exhausted for two or three minutes after WOC gold number two on Friday.

WOC will hand out 2000 flags at Arena Mørk, and we’re hoping the spectators use them and cheer the competitors on.

Around 120 of the 700 volunteers during WOC 2019 are youngsters aged 16-25. Out of the 120, 96 are involved in the project “Youth Volunteer”.

4500 spectators gathered for Wednesday’s long-distance at WOC 2019. Thursday volunteers still worked at the arena to make adjustments for even more spectators coming for the weekend.

The Falun-based club, OK Kåre, along with the juniors from the district of Dalarna, contributed with quite a troop for the spectator race at Kongsten Fortress in Fredrikstad.

The entire area of is contributing when Østfold’s about to organise a World Championship for the first time. For the spectators that means a good variety of healthy fresh food based on raw materials from entire Østfold when arriving the arena in August.  

Master-class gold show by Lundanes and Alexandersson

Olav Lundanes won the long-distance at WOC for the fourth consecutive time. The JWOC champion took a strong silver medal and secured double Norway. Switzerland’s Daniel Hubmann took the bronze just three seconds ahead of team mate Matthias Kyburz.

All of the controls are guarded by control personel during WOC 2019, among other things to make sure no controls are removed. Sheltered by a small evergreen tree we found Gerd Klavestad from Fredrikstad SK during the men’s long-distance final.

Norway’s Paul Sirum didn’t make it to the finals. Apart from that there were few surprises at the WOC 2019 middle qualifications Tuesday.
