The WOC website will be updated with more cultural events as soon as they’re confirmed.

Three great fortresses are well worth a visit as well: Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Høytorp Fortress in Mysen and the Old Town with Kongsten Fortress in Fredrikstad. At Kongsten one of the spectator races will be staged as well. For more information:

In between the races there are several restaurants throughout entire Østfold that offer great food and refreshments in customer friendly environments. Perhaps you’d like quiet boat ride upon the Halden Stream towards the canal locks in Ørje? Or you could enjoy modern city environments that have developed from the times Østfold was known as primarily an industrial area.

Even if WOC would like you to keep you inside our beautiful area, Oslo with Holmenkollen and the Royal Castle is less than an hour’s drive away. On the way to Oslo you’ll also find the renowned amusement park Tusenfryd.

No shortage in opportunities! Only your desires and energy levels limit the possibilities in between the races. The WOC week is all yours, perhaps you should consider expanding with another week!
