The County council of Østfold has today granted the WOC organization NOK 2000000 (Around 212000 euros) to put into the preparations for World Championships. WOC 2019 will be the biggest sporting event ever held in the county.

In the second edition of WOC2019's GPS Analysis Column World of O's Jan Kocbach takes a look at the GPS-tracking from the Norwegian Championships Long distance, organized September 7th 2017 in the neighbour terrain of the 2018 pre WOC and World Cup races. A must read for those interested in WOC 2019 terrain.
Around 30 national team runners from Sweden are currently on a ten day training camp in Østfold.

The words come from Sigmund Vister, the chairman of WOC 2019, after Sundays long distance race organised by Varteig Orienteringslag.
The Swedish women, lead by 21 y.o. Johanna Öberg, took care of no less than the ten(!) top places on the chase start in Euromeeting in Våler Saturday. Amongst the men 29 y.o. Estonian Timo Sild was the top guy.
