Jan Greibesland (56 y.o.) from Askim does not orienteer, yet he gladly volunteer for WOC 2019.

Greibesland is our “volunteer of the day” this Tuesday.

The organisers hope that we’ll don’t encounter a lot of heavy rain showers nearing the weekend, and that we’ll don’t will get use of remote parkin solutions using shuttle buses on Mørk Friday and Saturday.
Tuesday however, the remote parking solution at Rudskogen Motor Centre with shuttle buses was the intended plan from the beginning.

Greibesland’s responsibility was to direct people into the buses at the car park.
- I like it here. It’s so fun to meet the people! And everything is working very well. The first bus departed the car park around 9 am and had only one passenger Jan said about one hour later.

What made you sign up to become a volunteer?
- I wanted to help a good friend, Tore Sandem, who is responsible for transportation and safety during this WOC. For å hjelpe til. En god venn, Tore Sandem, har ansvaret for transport og sikkerhet, og han trengte hjelp. I’ve also been part of the bidding process towards bus companied and the planning of transportation, the 56-year-old tells us.

- What will be the highlight during WOC 2019?
- Can’t tell you as I know very little about orienteering. I did a beginner’s learning program along with my family about ten years ago, but I’ve never attended any races. I meet many of the orienteers through Askim IF’s ski group. By the way I’ve done my share for this WOC after today, as I’m back in my teacher’s job on Wednesday.
