After Østfold was awarded the 2019 WOC, the area now can look forward to more bigcompetitions that will be held on its soil. This week it became official that Østfold also will host test races for the 2018 EOC. These test races will take place the first weekend of April 2018.
OK Moss will host the middle distance, whilst Indre Østfold OK will host the long distancerace. Both races will also be part of Norgescupen and the traditional spring classics Lørdagskjappen and Smaaleneneløpet. The middle distance race takes place right outside of Moss, and the long distance race will be held in the northern parts of Trøgstad
-It is truly enjoyable that we get the chance to host even more big competitions. Both races are most relevant concerning WOC 2019, and there’s no doubt in my mind that there will be agood participation for these events, says Sigmund Vister – chairman for WOC 2019.
The EOC itself is taking place in Switzerland in May of 2018.
WOC 2019 is scheduled for 13th to 18th of August, with Sarpsborg as the event centre and host city. In addition to test races for EOC, Østfold will also host Euromeeting in September (Varteig) and the Norwegian Champs in Halden this autumn. The final test for the WOC organizers will be the World Cup races in Halden in the autumn of 2018.

- Sat 7th of April: Lørdagskjappen – OK Moss – Map: Kirkebygda (embargoed)
- Sun 8th of April: Smaaleneneløpet – Indre Østfold OK – Map: Stiklatjern (embargoed)
Tuesday the 10th of April Lillomarka OL will host a sprint event at Akershus Fortress in Oslo.
