We are happy to welcome the world championship in orienteering 2019 to Norway and Østfold. To host the top event in the international orienteering community is a great honour, and an equally demanding responsibility.

In August 2019 the city of Sarpsborg welcome competitors, spectators and media to unforgettable days in Østfold; for many the heart of orienteering in Norway.  August in Østfold usually comes with great summer weather, and the costline is unique.

We can promise beautiful and demanding terrain, not used for orienteering in the past. WOC 2019 is the first WOC with a new format (forest WOC), and we will put all our effort into making WOC 2019 unforgettable.

I encourage everyone to come to Norway and be a part of the WOC week and the spectator races in the middle of August 2019. Our great athletes deserve to have you as spectator. You deserve to come to Norway.

Astrid Waaler Kaas
President of the Norwegian Orienteering Federation
