-You’re disqualified, missed punch control 62, the controller told eight-year-old Odin as he crossed the finish line for the last spectator race at WOC 2019. In pouring rain…
The story had a happy ending for the young lad.
-But I was at 62, Odin Schei Danevad assured.
He’d just completed the 2k beginner’s course with 9 controls along with his dad and some heavy rain showers. After they studied the maps and controls together Odin and his dad went to the card controller Christopher Schive to check the backup-note.
- Yes, you’ve been there. The race is approved. Odin seems a lot happier and receives a clap on the shoulder from his dad.
-It was wet but fun. Daddy had to help me at one place. They’ve ran all of the spectator races at Mørk. They went on to sports drink and dry clothing. The two and 2400 others completed the different spectator courses Saturday, no matter the age and experience.
